Growing bananas planted in a greenhouse owned by Tokyo Nohgei Agricultural High School in NISHIOGI.
Many bunches of bananas show that they are nearing for harvest.
A teacher of the school commented, when you turn over the red-purple bracts, multi-layered bananas appear at the root. Interestingly, they grow downward first, but gradually curve upward toward sunlight. We harvest them before they turn yellow and store them at a temperature of 25℃. After harvest we cut down all of trees, actually herbs.

西荻窪でも熱帯感を満喫できます！
西荻の農芸高校所有の温室で成長過程の「バナナ」。すでに多数の房もあり、収穫が近いようです。
近くで作業中であった先生のコメント「この赤紫色の苞（ほう）をめくると、つけ根から多層のバナナの実が現れます。面白いことに、最初は下向きですが、だんだんと太陽の光に向かって上に曲がって成長します。そして、黄色にならないうちに収穫し、25℃の温度で保存します。収穫後は木全体―実は木ではなく草本なのですが―を切ります。」
