What is this bird trying to catch?

The bird found in a pond in Zenpukuji Park in NISHIOGI appeared to be an intermediate egret. It was probably aiming at small fish or a frog.

The bird is white all over and 68 cm (about 27 inches) in length, smaller than a gray heron, and is characterized by the change in bill color from blackish to yellow in the winter season.

この鳥は何を捕食しようとしているのか？

西荻の善福寺公園で見つけたこの鳥はチュウサギとみられる。狙っているのは小魚かそれともカエルか?

チュウサギの特徴は、全長68cmでアオサギより小さく、体全体が白色、くちばしはこの時期、黄色くなることといわれる。
