ZENPUKUJI PARK UNDER FIERCE HEAT

Wild birds seem to be forced to take action against the severe heat as well.

A family of a resident bird called spot-bill duck living in a pond in Zenpukuji Park in NISHIOGI.

In Tokyo the extremely hot day with a maximum temperature of 35℃ or higher has been three times more than in an average year.

Spot-bill ducks are said to usually rest in the morning and act in the evening, but this parent bird seems to cool off bathing and fluttering hard even in the morning.

野鳥たちも猛暑対応を迫られているようです。

西荻の善福寺公園の「上の池」に住む留鳥「カルガモ（軽鴨）」一家の姿。

東京では、日数で平年の3倍を超える猛暑日が続いています。カルガモは通常、午前中は休息して夜間に活動するといわれるが、この親鳥は、午前中から水浴びをして懸命に羽をばたつかせ、涼をとっているようにみえます。
