IN SEARCH OF A SUITABLE LOCATION

This ground seemed hard.

Just before noon, “Suppon” or Soft-shelled turtle found by the “Lower Pond” in Zenpukuji Park in NISHIOGI.

The animal was actively digging in the grassy ground by the pond for a while, probably to lay eggs, but eventually it gave up because the hole wasn’t big enough, so it filled the hole and returned to its home pond.

適地を求めて

この地面は堅かったようです。

お昼前、西荻の善福寺公園の「下の池」の池畔で見つけた「スッポン（鼈）」。

産卵のためか、しばらくこの池畔の叢の地面を盛んに掘っていましたが、そのうち十分な大きさの穴にならないと諦めたのか、その穴を埋めて住処の池に帰っていきました。
