CHARM OF GLASS BLOWING

Here is a group of handmade containers that are full of attachment.

Glasses called “Kitaichi-garasu” displayed in an antique store in the northwestern part of NISHIOGI.

These pitcher, goblets, tumblers and glasses were made in Otaru, Hokkaido, using the traditional glass blowing technique called “fuki-garasu” or blown glass after the mid-1940s. They are colorful, and you would feel the warmth of handmade.

吹きガラスの妙

愛着の沸く手作りの容器群です。

西荻北西地区の骨董店に展示されている、北海道小樽産のガラス製品（「北一硝子」）。大戦後の作品です。

これらの、「吹きガラス」という伝統的な技法で作られた水差しやゴブレット、タンブラー、グラスなどは、色鮮やかで手作りの温かみが感じられます。
