BEAUTY OF PUFFINESS

These beautiful puffy red leaves give you a feeling of the depth of autumn.

The summer cypresses (houkigi or literally broom trees in Japanese) planted in the productive green in NISHIOGI.

They originated in China and the Eurasian continent, and are annual plants. Their heights are 50-100cm.

The dead branches would be bunched to make houki or brooms, which led to the Japanese name.

Incidentally, their flower language is, for example, privileged life or successful marriage.

もこもこの美

このもこもこした美しい紅葉は秋の深まりを感じさせる。

西荻の生産緑地に植栽されている「コキア」（別名「ホウキギ＜箒木＞」）。

中国ないしユーラシア大陸原産の1年草。草丈は50～100㎝。

枯れた枝を束ねて箒をつくることができるため、「ホウキギ」とも呼ばれる。

因みにコキアの花言葉は、例えば「恵まれた生活」とか「夫婦円満」。
