What's
NISHIOGI

DSC_0385.JPG

There are a variety of cherry blossoms in NISHIOGI such as Someiyoshino, Yamazakura (literally mountain cherry blossoms) and Shidarezakura (weeping cherry blossoms), grafted from the nationally famous “Miharu-takizakura (literally Miharu waterfall cherry blossoms)” in Fukushima Prefecture.

Maintaining social distancing in the Covid-19 situation, you can quietly enjoy them in full bloom eating sakuramochis in the park; the sakuramochi is a sweet round pink-colored rice cake with adzuki bean paste inside, wrapped in a salted cherry leaf.

What? Are you saying, “I prefer dumplings rather than flowers”? Well, it’s also a good idea to taste the cakes at home.
