What's
NISHIOGI

DSC_0371.JPG

Digitalis Camelot or foxgloves (Kitsune-no-tebukuro in Japanese) found at the flower bed in front of a welfare facility in NISHIOGI.

The flowers originated in Europe and are annuals. The plant height is 60-150cm. They have various colors such as pink, yellow and white.

A lot of dark spots inside the funnel-shaped petals catch your eyes. The flowers are said to be poisonous, but historically, they were grown as medicinal herbs for heart diseases such as irregular pulse and heart failure.

In the language of flowers, foxgloves signify, for example, ardent love and healthy.
