Has the 15-year-old hero been able to get a body of machine for free?
A planned exhibition called Galaxy Express 999 (2022.4.9-6.26) is on now, including the show of the theatrical version of the movie called Good-bye Galaxy Express 999-Terminal Andromeda, in the Kogei Suginami Animation Museum located in the northern part of NISHIOGI. The anime was created by a world-famous cartoonist, Leiji Matsumoto.
The theme of the movie is human vs machines, but in this version the picture gives weight to the process of a 15-year-old boy becoming a full-fledged adult, fusing the preciousness of life, friendship and love.
The last scene of the movie has been very impressive in that the hero, Tetsuro Hoshino and the mysterious heroin who had supported him anytime, Maetel, have parted at Andromeda Station to steer their new courses.

東京工芸大学杉並アニメーションミュージアムで開催中の企画展「銀河鉄道999展」（2022.4.6～6.26）。各種展示のほか、世界的に有名な漫画家・松本零士原作のアニメ、例えば劇場版「さよなら銀河鉄道999―アンドロメダ終着駅―」も上映されている。
ここでは、人間vs機械というテーマを軸に、命の尊さ、友情、愛などを融合させながら、15歳の少年が1人前の大人に成長する過程に重点が置かれている。
主人公の星野鉄郎と彼を常にサポートしてきた謎のヒロイン・メーテルとの、アンドロメダ駅での最後の、それぞれの新たな道を歩みだす別れのシーンは感動的です。
