Here are paintings expressing a little kindness and happiness under some difficult situations and states of mind.
An art exhibition of the works of Mr. Noguchi Shimura titled “Arigato” or literally thank you held in a gallery near the south exit of NISHIOGIKUBO Station.
The artist has seen different daily activities of NISHIOGI citizens and heard their chats and had an impression that this area was characterized by seriousness; he has produced these works blowing up images of the experiences.
The painter commented,” One of my favorite paintings called Cuddle/Anxiety, for example, expresses my image which I created when I saw a young mother cuddling a newly-born baby with a little anxiety.”
美術家の西荻観
難のある場や心境とともに、ちょっとした優しさや嬉しさが表現された作品群です。
JR西荻窪駅南口近くのギャラリーで開催された野口清村展（「ありがto」＜2022.8.24-9.11＞）。
野口画伯が西荻の街で出会った市民のいろいろな活動やおしゃべりなどの見聞をもとにイメージを膨らませて描いたもので、西荻の特徴は「生真面目さ」にあるとのことです。
画伯のコメント「例えば、私の好きなこの「抱っこ／不安」という作品は、生まれたばかりの赤ちゃんを抱いている人がいました。ただ、ちょっと不安そうでした。その感じを描いたものです。」
