BEAUTY OF ORNAMENTAL FLOWERS

You find beautiful flowers relieving unpleasant mood in the rainy season in Japan.  

Colorful Gaku-ajisai or Lacecap hydrangea planted here and there in the NISHIOGI area.

The flowering tree originated in Japan. Introduced by German doctor Siebold to foreign countries, breeding is said to have progressed. The height is 1-3m.

The trees have distinctive inflorescence in that real petals are very small and surrounded by transformed calyxes called ornamental flowers.

The flower language of the Lacecap hydrangea is modesty.

装飾花の美

日本の梅雨時のうっとうしさを晴らしてくれる美しい花です。

西荻地域のあちこちで植栽されている多彩な「ガクアジサイ（額紫陽花）」。

この花木の原産地は日本で、ドイツのシーボルト医師によって海外に紹介され。品種改良が進んだといわれる。樹高は１－３ｍ。

花序が独特で、花のように見えるのは実は萼が変化したもので装飾花と呼ばれています。実際の花は非常に小さくこの萼に囲まれた中に集まっています。

「ガクアジサイ」の花言葉は、「謙虚」。
