Now, let’s go to the NISHIOGI Stable to enjoy watching sumo wrestlers’ training!

Various shapes of wrestlers displayed in an atelier, taking advantage of an annual event called the 15th NISHIOGI SAMPO (2022.6.4-6.5).   

Many pieces of sumo-related craftwork are exhibited in the store; for example, dolls of yokozuna or grand champions and embroidered wrestlers wearing belts and stamping on the ring.

Sumo is the national sport of Japan, and the act of stamping is believed to quiet evil and bring back peace.

「第15回西荻散歩（2022.6.4～6.5）」のイベントを機に西荻南地区のアトリエに展示されている、色々な姿のおすもうさん。

店内には「横綱」の人形やまわし姿で四股を踏む刺繍品の力士群など多様な相撲関連の作品が展示されています。

相撲は日本の国技で、四股を踏むのは邪悪を鎮め、平安を呼び戻す所作といわれています。
