People in NISHIOGIKUBO enjoyed shopping in the scent of fresh green.

An open-air market was held in a farm facing Itsukaichi-kaido in NISHIOGI on April 24, 2022. A variety of goods such as seasonal vegetables, baked confectionery, beverages, and dyed cloth were ready for sale in tents.

Take these leaf onions, for example. The farmer commented,” The bulbs are fresh, while thick green leaves are sweet and soft, so they are suitable for cooking Japanese as well as Western foods.”

新緑の中で

西荻窪の人たちは新緑の香りの中、お買い物を楽しみました。

4月24日、西荻の五日市街道に面した農園で開催された新緑の青空市。旬の野菜、焼き菓子、飲み物、染め物など多様な品物がテント内に並べられていました。

例えば、この葉タマネギ。生産農園主曰く「玉の部分はみずみずしく、肉厚な葉の部分は甘く、やわらかいので、和風料理にも洋風料理にも向きます。」
