Many traditional Japanese crafts have been displayed in the festival.
The 47th NISHIOGI antique festival held as scheduled with 19 participating stores in Iogi hall on October 8, 2022; it was the second time after the reopening in April this year.
These masks, for example, are called “Sagano-men” or literally Sagano masks representing folk crafts made in Sagano, Kyoto City; they can be used for Kyogen plays.
The dolls are called “Tsuchi ningyo” or soil dolls made as local toys in Tohoku region mainly in the Edo period (1603-1867).
The organizer said,” With long-continued rainy days, I had worried about the likelihood of holding the market, but I really felt relieved to have been able to open it. I would like to arrange an expanded festival in April 2023 using the space of the second floor.”
西荻秋の骨董好きまつり2022
日本古来の伝統工芸品も数多く出品されていました。
第47回「西荻骨董好きまつり」が、今春再開後2回目となる10月8日、19人の出店者を得て予定通り開催されました。
例えば、これらの面は「嵯峨面」と称し、京都・嵯峨野の代表的な民芸品で、狂言にも使われます。また、人形は「土人形」で、主として江戸時代に作られた東北地方の郷土玩具です。
主催者の言「連日の降雨で心配しましたが、幸い予定通り開催でき、“助かった”というのが正直な気持ちです。次回の来年4月には、2階も利用し拡大して開催したいと思います。」
