What's
NISHIOGI

DSC_0780.JPG

This large painting seems to show the natural world where people live peacefully with animals and plants.

An exhibition titled “Instantaneous scene-art expression in sports” held in a gallery near the south exit of NISHIOGIKUBO Station.

The painter, Mr. Ikehira Teppei, was born in Fukuoka Prefecture in 1978 and graduated from Shimane University in 2001, specializing in health and physical education. He has held many exhibitions in Japan and abroad such as in New York and Miami.

He commented,” Every scene in the natural world is the collection of results which each entity has attempted to get while surviving the moments. So, please widen your view all over this canvas to recognize that each entity becomes a main character, which will lead to the traditional Japanese faith in myriads of deities in Shintoism. I painted subjects that I wanted to one by one a day. As a result, it took as long as four months to finish this work.”
