Congratulations on the reopening of Shinmei-asaichi or Shinmei morning market!
The open market has reopened for the first time in about two years after it was discontinued due to Covid-19 pandemic; the market had been held on the Shinmei-dori on the third Sunday of every month.
In the first market of the New Year, daikokumai (a dance of the god of wealth) and shishimai (a lion dance) were performed with flute and drum accompaniment, and junior high school students sold dagashi or cheap candies.
Visitors were pleased to get a tissue box written one hundred million yen (about 877,000 US dollars), praying for becoming richer than now.
神明朝市の再開
待望の「神明朝市」が再開されました。
毎月第3日曜日に開催されていた「神明朝市」が、コロナ禍で中止後約2年ぶりに復活しました。
この新年の初市では、大黒舞・獅子舞が笛と太鼓に合わせて公演されたほか、今回は中学生による「駄菓子」売りも登場しました。
見学者は、懐がもっと豊かになりますように、と願いながら「1億円BOXティッシュ」と書かれたプレゼントを受け取っていました。
