THE FIRST MESSENGER OF SPRING

Here comes the first messenger that has long been waited for!

Early blooming cherry blossoms called Kawazu-Zakura planted in Momoi Harappa Park located in the northeastern part of NISHIOGI.

It is said that their primary tree was discovered by chance in Kawazu town in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1955, which led to the naming.

The blossom period of these flowers lasts for about a month, longer than that of, for example, the representative species of cherry blossoms, Somei-Yoshino, so people can enjoy full bloom for an extended period.

春の一番乗り

待ちに待った春の一番乗りが西荻にもやってきました。

西荻の北東地区にある桃井原っぱ公園に植栽されている「河津桜」。

この桜の原木は1955年、静岡県河津町で偶然発見され、後日の命名につながったとされる。

開花期間は1か月ほどで、桜の代表種である「ソメイヨシノ」などと比べて長いので、満開を長期間楽しめます。
