Even though the lingering summer heat continues, there were works on display that gave a sense of autumn.
The August 2023 handmade market held in Iogi hall on Sunday the 27th. Thirty-seven exhibitors overall took part in the event.
Take this pair of “wide pants”, for example. The exhibitor commented, “These were dyed with Chinese-made “Inkafu” or a kind of calico. I have also included crickets perched on lily flowers and chrysanthemums, so you can feel the signs of autumn.”
On the other hand, according to the creator of the “stuffed frog toys”, even though the lingering heat is still severe, by looking at the stuffed works made from a variety of vegetables, fruits and their processed products such as strawberry chocolate, you can imagine the autumn, the best season of having a good appetite.
2023年8月西荻手しごと市
残暑が続く中にも秋の気配が感じられる作品も展示されていました。
2023年8月27日（日）、井荻會舘で開催された「西荻手しごと市」。出店者は計37店。
例えばこの「ワイドパンツ」。出展者のコメント、「これは中国製の『印花布（いんかふ）』に染めたものです。ユリの花にコオロギがとまったさまや菊も配しましたので秋の気配を感じていただけると思います。」
一方、「カエルのぬいぐるみ」の作者によれば、まだ残暑が厳しいですが、多様な野菜や果物、その加工品（イチゴチョコなど）のぬいぐるみをご覧いただき、食欲の秋を想像していただければ、とのことです。
