What are these animals seeing beyond their gaze?

An exhibition titled “Gaze Miyagi Yukari-Ten” (March 8-March26, 2023) held in a gallery near the south exit of NISHIOGIKUBO Station.

A salesclerk explained, “Ms. Miyagi has been painting nature, animals, and plants using a paint pouring technique lately; a paintbrush dipped in a paint is put on a wet paper, and this process is repeated for different colors. The paints ooze into the paper to produce delicate tints. It seems difficult to control the stroke of the paintbrush.”

JR西荻窪駅南口の近くのギャラリーで開催された展覧会（「『まなざし』ミヤギユカリ展」）（2023.3.8～3.26）。

店員の説明「ミヤギさんは、最近、自然や動植物をテーマに垂らし込み技法により作画されています。この画法は、水につけた紙に絵具を浸した絵筆を置いて色を滲みださせ濃淡をつけることをいろいろな色で繰り返す手法ですが、絵筆の運びのコントロールが難しいようです。」
