Zenpukuji Park in NISHIOGI has various kinds of carp now: colorful carp of koinobori swimming in the blue sky and real carp approaching visitors to beg for food in the pond.

According to a Chinese legend, a carp swims up a waterfall in the upper part of the Yellow River and becomes a dragon, a symbol of success in life.

西荻の善福寺公園には、今、いろいろな鯉がいます。青空を泳ぐ鯉のぼりの多彩な鯉、池（「下の池」）の中で、餌を求めて近づいてくる実在の鯉など。

中国の伝説によれば、鯉は黄河上流の滝を登って竜になるとされ、立身出世の象徴といわれます。
