FLOWERS BLOOMING TOWARDS THE SKY

Here are flowers sending words of cheer to fresh kindergartners.

“Shimokuren” or Mulan magnolia planted in front of the gate of a kindergarten near Igusahachimangu Shrine in the northwestern part of NISHIOGI.

The flowering tree is a deciduous high tree originated in China. The height is 3-5m. Large reddish-purple flowers stand out.

The tree is said to grow fast and resists hotness and coldness, so it would watch over the healthy growth of the kindergartners for a long time.

空に向かって咲く花

初々しい園児たちにエールを送っている花です。

西荻の井草八幡宮近くの幼稚園の門前に植栽されている「シモクレン（紫木蓮）」。

中国原産の落葉小高木で樹高は３～5m。大きな赤紫色の花が目立ちます。

この花木は生長が早く、暑さ寒さに強いといわれるので、園児たちの健やかな成長を久しく見守っていくことでしょう。
