The 49th NISHIOGI antique festival held with 21 participating stores in Iogi hall on October 14, 2023.
Take this fish-shaped work, for example. The exhibitor commented, “This is a wooden piece made from 1870s to 1920s and was used for “Jizaikagi”, or an adjustable pot hanger that allows you to freely adjust the height of the cooker relative to the hearth fire; it is hung from the ceiling over the open sunken hearth in the floor called Irori, and the fish is often used as a talisman of “Beware of fire”, because it is considered to be connected to water.”
On the other hand, according to the exhibitor, the cute works are called “egg art.” These are said to be made from eggs covered with patterned crepe cloth from 1920s to 1980s.
西荻秋の骨董好きまつり2023
秋本番を迎え、ほっとする作品も多く展示されていました。
第49回「西荻骨董好きまつり」が、10月14日、21店の出展者を得て井荻會舘で開催されました。
例えば、この魚の形をした作品。出展者のコメント「これは、明治から大正時代にかけての木製品で、囲炉裏の「自在鉤（じざいかぎ）」に使われていた魚です。自在鉤とは、囲炉裏の火に対して鍋窯の高さを自在に調節できる鉤のことで、魚は、水に通じるということで「火の用心」のお守りの意味でよく使われます。」
一方、この可愛らしい作品は、出展者によれば「エッグア－ト」と称し、卵に柄付きの縮緬の布をかぶせたもので大正ないし昭和時代の作品とのことです。
