PERFECT HARVEST MOON 2023

Let’s celebrate this year’s bountiful harvest!

The full moon viewed in the NISHIOGI residential area at around 7:00 p.m. and 10:10 p.m. on September 29, 2023.

The harvest moon and the perfect full moon fell on the same day for the third consecutive year. The next opportunity is said to be on September 12, 2030.

In Japan, people have a custom to enjoy the moon-viewing this evening, decorating Japanese pampas grass and offering dumplings and sake to the moon.

2023年9月29日夜7時および10時10分ごろ、西荻南東地区住宅街で見た満月。

3年連続で「中秋の名月」と「満月」が同じ日に重なりました。次に重なる機会は2030年9月12日とのことです。

日本では、この夜、ススキを飾り、お酒と団子などを供えて月見を楽しむ風習があります。
