NISHIOGI

DSC_2461.JPG

Small flowers in a dense ring bloom at the tips of branches divided into three as the name suggests.

“Mitsumata” or Oriental paper bush planted in a productive green in NISHIOGI.

The flowering tree is a deciduous shrub originated in China. The height is 1-2m. It is said to have been introduced to Japan in the Muromachi Period (1336-1573).

The bark of the tree has strong and supple fibers, so they are used as materials for making washi or Japanese paper and paper money.

Incidentally, the flower language of Mitsumata is, for example, toughness or healthiness.
