RADIATING FLOWERS

The flowers are reminiscent of an arrow wheel attached to the tip of a carp streamer pole.

“Yagurumagiku” or Cornflower planted in a productive green in NISHIOGI.

The flower is an annual originated in South Europe. The height is 20-100cm. It is said to have been introduced to Japan around the late 1880s.

It is the national flower of Germany, France, Estonia and Malta.

Incidentally, the flower language of cornflower is, for example, grace or delicacy. 

放射状に広がる花

鯉のぼりのポールの先につける矢車を彷彿させます。

西荻の生産緑地に植栽されている「ヤグルマギク（矢車菊）」。

南ヨーロッパ原産の一年草で、草丈は20-100cm.　日本には明治時代中頃に渡来したといわれます。

ドイツ、フランス、エストニア、マルタの国花でもあります。

因みに、「ヤグルマギク」の花言葉は、例えば、優美、繊細など。
