SHICHI-GO-SAN SHRINE VISIT

People celebrated the healthy growth of children.

In Japan, November 15th is called “Shichi-Go-San”, literally means seven, five and three, a day to celebrate the growth of children aged 3,5 and7.

On this day of the year, when girls are 3 and 7 years old and boys are 3 and 5 years old, their parents dress them up in their best clothes and take them to a Shinto shrine in the neighborhood.

It is said that these three numbers were chosen because odd numbers are considered lucky numbers.

七五三のお参り

子供の健やかな成長を祝いました。

日本では、11月15日は「七五三」と称し、3歳、5歳、7歳の子供の成長を祝う日です。

女の子は3歳と7歳、男の子は3歳と5歳にあたる年のこの日に、両親は晴れ着を着せて一緒に近所の神社にお参りします。

奇数はめでたい数とされ、そのうちから3つを取ったものといわれます。
