The August 2024 handmade market held in Iogi hall on Sunday the 25th with the participation of 35 stores.
Take this bag made from an obi, for example. The design, which combines an oxcart and a fan, evokes luxurious lifestyle of aristocrats of the Heian period (794-1185). It is said to be a standard obi that symbolizes “auspiciousness.”
Meanwhile, cute embroidering and knitting works such as hair accessories (scrunchies) are the proud creations of a woman from France (Paris) who exhibits for the first time.
In addition, there is a ceramic pig vase that is described as “Autumn Chinese Chive Flowers.” It is decorated with “Akamanma” or Creeping Smartweed, which are said to be autumn flowers. Chinese chive flowers are beautiful, but they have a strong smell, so if you display them in a room, you need to be careful not to let the smell seep into your outdoor clothes.

秋のお出かけの準備は整えられましたか？
2024年8月25日（日）、35店の参加を得て井荻會舘で開催された「西荻手しごと市」。
例えばこの、帯で作ったバッグ。牛車と扇を組み合わせた絵柄は、平安時代の貴族の豪華な生活を想起させます。「めでたさ」を象徴する、帯の定番とのことです。
一方、ヘアアクセサリー（シュシュ）など可愛らしい刺繍・編み物作品は、フランス（パリ）から来日後、今回初出展の女性ご自慢の作品です。
さらに、“ニラの花の秋”と表現された、陶製の豚の一輪挿し。秋の花といわれる「アカマンマ」も用意されています。ニラの花はきれいですが強い匂いがしますので、部屋に飾った場合は、その匂いが外出着などに染み込まないよう注意が必要です。
