What kind of summer tea flowers do you use that would be suitable for a tea ceremony?

A”bamboo flower vase” made of Madake with a note displayed in an antique store (“Jikoh”) in the northwestern part of NISHIOGI. It is a work created about 100 years ago that continues the tradition from Sen no Rikyu.

There is an inscription of “Kounichi” or literally good day written by Ueda Gizan, former chief priest of Daitokuji-Koutouin Temple in Kyoto and kaou or the written seal as an inscription. Such a bamboo flower vase can be placed in the tea room, hung on the wall, or suspended from the ceiling.

The store manager commented, “The pattern at the bottom of a bamboo flower vase is also important, and its beauty increases the value of the work and makes it expensive.”
