“Sukaebora” or Blue-fan flower planted in the flower bed in front of a private house in NISHIOGI. This is a perennial herb originated in southeastern Australia.

It is said that the English name comes from the fact that when it was first introduced to Japan, its petals were only blue in color.

Incidentally, the flower language of “Sukaebora” is, for example, “one who brings cool breeze” or “raises a toast.”

扇子様の花

人が歓喜の声をあげながら両手を広げているかのような姿にも見えます。

西荻の民家前の花壇に植栽されている「スカエボラ（ブルーファンフラワー）」。オーストラリア南東部原産の多年草。

英名は、日本に渡来した当初、花色が青色だけだったことに由来するそうです。

因みに「スカエボラ」の花言葉は、「涼しい風を運ぶ人」、「祝杯をあげる」など。
