FLOWERS DECORATING THE FLOWER BED

Voluminous flowers bloom beautifully in spikes.

“Sutokku” or Stock planted in the flower bed of Shouan Umebayashi Park in the southwestern part of NISHIOGI.

The herb is an annual plant originated in southern Europe, and is said to have been introduced to Japan in the Edo period (1603-1867) and was cultivated as cut flowers because of their long-lasting blooms, and is said to be very popular today for this purpose.

Incidentally, the flower language of this flower is, for example, “eternal beauty” and “bonds of affection.”  

花壇を彩る花

ボリューム満点の花が穂状に美しく咲いています。

西荻の南西地区の「松庵梅林公園」の花壇に植栽されている「ストック」。

南ヨーロッパ原産の1年草で、日本には江戸時代に渡来し、花もちがいいので切り花用に栽培されたそうで、その用途は現在でも人気が大といわれます。

因みに、この花の花言葉は、例えば「永遠の美」「愛情の絆」など。
