FLOWERS THAT ATTRACT INSECTS

As befits insect-pollinated flowers, these flowers are attracting various insects to suck nectar.

“Seitakaawadachisou” or Tall Golden rod grow in clusters on the pondside of Zenpukuji Park in NISHIOGI.

They are naturalized plants native to North America, and are tall and have a strong reproductive ability.

It is said to have been named after the fact that the clustered flowers look like bubbles.

Incidentally, the flower language of “Seitakaawadachisou” is, for example, “vitality.”

虫を呼ぶ花

虫媒花にふさわしく、いろいろな虫を吸密に誘い込んでいます。

西荻の善福寺公園の池畔に群生している「セイタカアワダチソウ（背高泡立草）」。

北アメリカ原産の帰化植物で、草丈は高く、繁殖力が強いとのこと。

群生した花の様子が泡立つように見えることからこの名前がついたと言われます。

因みに、「セイタカアワダチソウ」の花言葉は、例えば「生命力」。
