On October1 (Tuesday), 2024, a demonstration of “Hokushin Ittou-ryu” was held as one of the dedication ceremonies at the autumn festival of Igusa-Hachiman Shrine in NISHIOGI.
“Hokushin Ittou-ryu” is a school of swordsmanship and naginata (Japanese halberd) technique founded by Chiba Shusaku Narimasa (1794-1855) in the late Edo period and is said to be the prototype of modern kendo.
A variety of techniques were performed, including koteuchi strikes of naginata art and sword drawing techniques while sitting and standing,
井草八幡宮例大祭
「エーイ！」の掛け声とともに打突（だとつ）する姿は迫力満点でした。
2024年10月1日（火）西荻の井草八幡宮の例大祭での奉納行事のひとつ、「北辰一刀流」の演武。
「北辰一刀流」は、江戸時代後期に千葉周作成政（1794-1855）が創始した剣術と薙刀（なぎなた）術の流派で、現代の剣道の原型といわれています。
薙刀術の小手打ちや抜刀術の座ったまま、立ったままの技など多様な技が演じられました。
