These are vivid fruits that brighten up the park in winter.

“Kazandemari” or Himalayan firethorn planted in Oomiyamae Park in NISHIOGI. The plant is an evergreen shrub originated in the Himalayas.

The fruit looks delicious and makes you want to take a bite, but it is said to be poisonous.

西荻の大宮前公園に植栽されている「カザンデマリ（花山手毬）」。ヒマラヤ原産の常緑低木。

おいしそうな実なので思わず一口つまみたくなりますが、有毒だそうです。
