Many people also took part in the “Atama-kami” or head-biting ceremony and prayed for good health in the year ahead.
A New Year’s event “New Year’s First Market” (January 19,2025) was held on Shinmei Street in NISHIOGI with the participation of 31 stores.
At this event, the Oomiyamae Folk Performing Arts Preservation Society performed Shishimai, a lion dance, and Daikoku dance to the accompaniment of a flute and drums.
After the performance, many families participated in the head-biting ritual, which is said to bring good luck such as warding off evil and preventing illness.
新春初市2025
多くの人々が、「頭噛み」にも参加し、本年の無病息災を祈りました。
西荻の神明通りで開催された、31店参加による正月のイベント「新春初市」（2025.1.19）。
このイベントでは、「大宮前郷土芸能保存会」による「獅子舞」および「大黒舞」が笛や太鼓にあわせて披露されました。演舞後,多くの家族連れが、厄除けや無病息災などのご利益があるといわれる「頭噛み」にも参加しました。
