SMALL STAR-SHAPED FLOWER

This flower makes people feel the arrival of summer.

“Konronka” or Mussaenda (also known as handkerchief flower) planted in front of a private home in NISHIOGI. The plant is an evergreen shrub originated in Tropical Africa and Asia.

What looks like a white flower is actually a sepal, and it is said that the plant is also called the “handkerchief flower” because it looks a waving handkerchief when it sways in the wind.

Incidentally, the flower language of this flower is, for example, “southern scenery.”

小さな星形の花

夏到来を感じさせる花です。

西荻の民家前に植栽されている「コンロンカ（崑崙花、別名ハンカチの花）」。熱帯アフリカ、アジア等原産の常緑低木。

白い花のように見えるのは蕚片で、風に揺られる様子がハンカチを振っているように見えることから「ハンカチの花」とも呼ばれているそうです。

因みに、この花の花言葉は、例えば「南の風景」。
