Yanagi- Koji and its adjoining streets including Sakae-dori, immediately near the south exit of NISHIOGIKUBO station, are old-fashioned drinking and eating spots.
You will find a series of old small barracks built shortly after the end of World War Ⅱ. Once you step into there, you find a totally different world: nostalgic tiny Izakaya (bars and eateries) including multinational ones such as Korea, China and Thailand, stand side by side.
They are crowded every night with not only local residents but also visitors from the other parts of Japan and overseas; many regular customers often begin drinking sake and chatting with friends, eating yakitori or grilled chickens and other light snacks at the makeshift tables outside from early afternoon onward.
You can enjoy NISHIOGI’s nightlife there securely and safely at a reasonable bill.
西荻居酒屋街
西荻窪駅南口を出て右方向すぐ近くにある柳小路、サカエ通りなど、西荻のナイトライフの中心である居酒屋街。
戦争直後に建てられたバラック建築が並ぶ。小さな居酒屋が多いが、店主は国際色豊か。
地元の人々はもとより、日本の他地区からの客のほか、外国からの訪問客も多い。
